The very best body lotion/cream in existence!
This is the best body lotion/cream I have ever used. Needless to say, I have tried basically everything available. Medix 5.5 is so luxurious. The texture is perfect and is non-greasy. The scent is lovely and not overpowering at all. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and with only one application, I felt the difference and saw the dryness vanish. I highly recommend this lotion and intend to purchase again and again. The added bonus is that it is made in Chicago. The city that I love. I would give more than 5 stars if I could.

Excellent product, but you can’t expect results overnight.
I consider myself a beauty product junkie/expert. You name it, I’ve tried it. I have done my research, I’ve read medical journals, and I’ve talked to different doctors over the years. I know about skin care and what does and doesn’t work. My hobby is studying nutrition, fitness and beauty products. There isn’t a product out there that you can apply topically that is going to cure your skin issues overnight. But, if the product has the right ingredients, YOU WILL get results, you just have to be patient. This product has the right ingredients. Always look at the ingredient list on skincare products. It is full of “butters” and one of the first ingredients listed are the Retinol and the Ferulic Acid. That means that there is a higher concentration of these ingredients in the product and they are not secondary ingredients that won’t get you real results. If the “magic ingredient” in your product is one of the last things listed, it’s going to do virtually nothing for your skin. Most drug store prodcuts fall into this category. Also, this lotion is not going to “ultra moisturize” your skin topically. You’re going to think that it’s not working because you won’t have that “lotiony” feel after you put it on. It quickly soaks in. Many people think that if their skin doesn’t feel silky, slimy, and soft right after applying their lotion, that the product isn’t moisturizing enough. There is a difference in moisturizing and hydrating. What you really want is hydration. This is where the skin attracts moisture in the deeper layers and is locked in from within. Not sitting on top. Lotions that contain mainly “butters” are hydrating. That’s where you’re going to see real results. Most lotions sold in stores “moisturize” topically. They contain petrolatum and mineral oil as their main ingredients. You feel all silky and soft at first, but after those lotions soak in (or rub off on your clothes beacause they really don’t get down below the surface of your skin) your skin feels dry again a couple hours later. This lotion is not like that. It’s going to hydrate your skin with treatment, not superficial oils and chemical emollients. As far as the smell, it doesn’t bother me, but I can see why some might not like it. What you’re smelling is the shea butter which to many people has a kind of cocoa-ish, baby powderish kind of smell. Some people even say they smell kind of a hint of rose. Shea butter naturally smells like all this. That’s a good thing b/c it’s the main ingredient in the lotion. If you don’t like the smell, then don’t buy any products that contain mainly shea butter. Overall, this is a great product. I have been using it for about a month, and I can tell a difference in the quality of my skin. Texture, tone, firmness, etc. It is not going to magically erase age spots or sun spots. You would have to use pure Vitamin C or a bleaching cream containing hydroquinone to topically reduce the appearance those. If you really want to get rid of those, you’d have to break the bank to get them laser treated. For a topical hydration and mild anti-aging treatment, this lotion does work if you use it long enough, but set realistic expectations.

Effective Lotion
Love this lotion. Since using it, I have noticed a difference in skin texture. One of the biggest differences is the fading of some dark spots. It has a pleasant smell. The only drawback is the pumping system. The stem is way too short. I waited to try a second bottle before reviewing. I end up about 2/3 finished and have to turn the bottle upside down and take the top off to get the lotion. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars!

I am so glad I tried this! It smells fresh and clean and this stuff works. I have been using this on my extremely dry and leathery like legs from the winter every night for about 10 days and the dead skin is just falling off my legs. It doesn’t irritate, but it actually works. I cannot believe how much better and softer my legs feel and it’s working on the rest of my body as well, but my legs were in bad shape, especially my lower legs. I don’t shave anymore because I don’t have a need to shave. I think I started getting kind of a thick buildup of dry skin from not shaving and that dead skin is almost gone.

Great Lotion!
I love this lotion! It has a light scent which I like…not a florally scent. I’ve been using it for almost 3 months now…mainly on my arms and hands because I am starting to get some crepiness and it has smoothed it out significantly and leaves my skin looking and feeling softer. The bottle is a generous size…it has lasted a long time. Will definitely be purchasing again.

Stinks!
I’m 5’11, 170 lbs. I used this bottle for two weeks on my legs, arms, stomach and chest. I used the entire bottle in two weeks. Not a lot of product for the price. I bought a second bottle and only used it on my arms and legs. I wanted to use it for four to six weeks to get the full effect. On a scale of 1-10, I’d say this product was a 5. I had to look really hard to notice a difference and no one in my family saw a difference at all in my skin. So all in all the product was okay, but not worth the money. That being said, this product stinks so bad! It is just gross smelling. I put it on before I went to bed and could not sleep it stunk so bad! So I started putting it on in the morning, then put my watch on, then went and sweated at work. When the lotion mixed with the sweat, it stunk even more. The smell will keep me from buying this product again.

Got Me Through Winter Dryness
I am an old man of 80 who suffers greatly in the Winter from dry skin and cold blisters. The lotion is easy to apply, dries quickly and does not leave my skin feeling greasy. It also has a very faint pleasant smell.

So far, so good.I’ve been using this for around 3 weeks so far and whilst visually it’s too soon to see full improvements in skin texture, as skin needs around 8 to 12 weeks minimum with most topical creams to really start to make a proper difference… HOWEVER, I could feel from the very first application how much softer my skin felt – and I’m talking lasting softness where my usually quite dry skin might start to feel like it needs extra moisturising with other body creams I’ve tried – with this it doesn’t at all.It is a light lotion that is easily applied, and quickly absorbed.It also smells beautiful, something my partner has noticed whenever I’ve applied this – it’s not overpowering though. However if you don’t like scented things you may not love this. If you have sensitivities to fragrance, you may also need to patch test it – that being said, this contains retinol, and so if you can tolerate that, fragrance may not be an issue.It has a pump on the bottle, which makes it super easy to apply more when your hands are slippy. The pump feels sturdy, and of good quality and the bottle is aesthetically pleasing also.I am starting to notice very slight improvements in my texture and skin appearance – this is very promising after 3 weeks usage. I use this once a day, but I’m considering doubling up to twice a day, purely to see if the speed at which my skin improves speeds up. At this price, it’s super affordable to use a bit more. For me, using twice a day will equate to just under 1 bottle a month… Just to put it into perspective if you’re considering a subscription. I’m a UK size 10 and 5ft 6 in terms of body size, and I do apply quite generously… again just in case it helps you to gauge how often you might need to repurchase.Would I purchase again? Absolutely – I already received my second bottle ready for when I finish this one.
